Oskar-Kokoschka-Prize
In 1981, shortly after the artist's death (1886-1980), the Oskar Kokoschka Prize was established in commemoration. It is awarded biannually by the Austrian federal government for outstanding achievements in the field of fine arts. The €20,000 prize is one of Austria's most highly endowed visual arts awards and is presented to distinguished international artists by a jury chaired by the respective Rector of the University of Applied Arts.
